BNB Chain Burns 1.65 Million BNB as Price Struggles Below $752

Key Insights

  • Supply reduction still remains with BNB Chain working towards achieving 100 million tokens.
  • The price momentum is still rather soft and the price of BNB is still below the 20DMA level.
  • Demand is the key determinant as there is no way to ensure the price will continue to rise with only the token burned.

On October 19, 2026, BNB Chain token burned 1,646,196.44 BNB valued at approximately $1.197 billion in its 37th burn of the quarter. The BNB Foundation stated that it’s making progress to reach the total supply of 100 million tokens, and BNB is currently trading close to $725, facing an important technical resistance level.

The operation reduced the reported total supply to 131,512,085 BNB at 10:05 UTC. However, the substantial dollar valuation has not translated into a decisive price recovery, leaving traders focused on support near $700 and resistance around $750.

BNB Chain records its latest supply reduction

The October operation removed more BNB than the previous quarterly burn in July. During that event, the foundation eliminated 1,615,827.795 BNB valued at approximately $931.7 million.

As a result, the new burn added another 1.88% or 30,368.645 BNB. Its reported dollar value also rose by approximately $265.3 million, which is due to the various values of the tokens and the quantity of the tokens.

The figures show the difference between the number of tokens destroyed and the value of the tokens, in dollars. Burning the tokens did not result in a $1.197 billion purchase on cryptocurrency exchanges – those tokens were permanently removed from the reported supply.b

The foundation does this reduction through its Auto-Burn feature. The system uses BNB’s reference price and production of the blocks on BNB Smart Chain to calculate the quarterly amount.

Supply target remains 31.5 million BNB away

BNB Chain aims to reduce its total supply to 100 million tokens through its established burning mechanisms. Following the October operation, approximately 31.51 million BNB remain above that target.

The latest burn removed approximately 1.24% of the supply that existed immediately before the operation.Additional reductions will be needed in future quarterly burns and other appropriate mechanisms to achieve the long-term target.

BNB Chain also features BEP-95, the protocol for which permanently takes a percent of the transaction fees collected on the network. Unlike quarterly Auto Burn events, this mechanism is associated with network activity and the burn parameters that control it.

In addition, network upgrades have impacted the Auto-Burn calculation. The Lorentz and Maxwell improvements led to a faster production of blocks, which required changes to the parameters of the formula.

As a result, future burn quantities will depend on the applicable calculation inputs. The network has not agreed upon a set amount of quarterly events needed to meet the target.

Despite the burn, BNB price appears to be facing resistance.

The provided market snapshot shows BNB trading at nearly $725.45 and rising around 0.5% in the past 24 hours. It was valued at a market cap of approximately $95.42 billion fourth largest cryptocurrency.

But the price did not break above the $750-$752 resistance level that was noted on the technical analysis provided. The 20-day simple moving average stood at $751.70, indicating that BNB had yet to reclaim this reference level.

The chart also placed the upper Bollinger Band at $800.51 and the lower band at $702.89. Trading below the moving average and closer to the lower band reflected continued downward pressure.

A couple of technical levels are being closely monitored for indications of a potential stronger rebound or continued deterioration.

  • Support levels are at $700-$703 and could see some resistance from buyers trying to prevent further drops.
  • The resistance is in the vicinity of $750-$752 and when the price is around this level, it could be a positive sign in the short term.
  • But momentum remains a huge concern as the most recent attempt at supply reduction didn’t result in a clear breakout.

These are the market conditions of the moment, and do not guarantee price movement. Overall market conditions, demand and liquidity for cryptocurrencies will also play a part on valuation.

Market implications go beyond the token scarcity.

The recent burnt of BNB Chain further reinforces the platform’s long-term goal of reducing the supply. But with fewer tokens in circulation it doesn’t have to be expensive just because of market demand.

The network’s fee-burning mechanism also connects supply reduction to transaction activity. Meanwhile, its quarterly formula provides a separate, rules-based process for determining additional reductions.

BNB Chain has also pursued other initiatives alongside its supply program. A separate campaign waives gas fees for eligible USDC, USD1 and U transfers through October 31, 2026, covering specified exchange withdrawals, wallet transfers and selected bridge transactions.

These are targeted at various facets of network involvement. Eligible users will benefit from fee reductions, which can help minimize transfer fees, and token burns will help decrease supply over time.

Conclusion

BNB Chain’s 37th quarterly burn removed 1.646 million BNB worth approximately $1.197 billion, bringing reported total supply to 131.51 million tokens. The network remains about 31.51 million BNB above its long-term target.BNB

However, BNB’s price continues to face resistance near $750–$752. The next market direction will depend on buying demand, technical momentum and broader trading conditions rather than the burn alone.
