Smarter Web Company Expands Bitcoin Treasury to 2,850 BTC Under 10-Year Plan

The Smarter Web Company has increased its Bitcoin treasury to 2,850 BTC after purchasing another 20 BTC on October 23. The London-listed company spent £1.23 million on the acquisition under its long-term Bitcoin treasury policy, known as “The 10 Year Plan.” The purchase follows an October 15 announcement that brought its holdings to 2,830 BTC.

Smarter Web Reports Bitcoin Treasury Figures

Smarter Web paid an average of £61,733 per Bitcoin for its latest acquisition. Its reported average acquisition price across its treasury stands at £81,837 per BTC. The company also reported a quarterly Bitcoin yield of 2.41% since September 30 and 768 satoshis per share.

According to its regulatory announcement, Smarter Web has spent £241.98 million on gross Bitcoin purchases and recorded £8.75 million in gross sales. Based on those rounded figures, net purchases total approximately £233.23 million.

The company operates a web design, development and digital marketing business serving more than 500 client websites. Alongside these operations, it uses Bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset.

Smarter Web aims to increase Bitcoin holdings per ordinary share over time while supporting its capital position. It has also indicated that future fundraising should increase Bitcoin exposure per share in line with its treasury strategy.

However, Bitcoin yield and satoshis per share are treasury performance measures, not direct indicators of revenue, profit or cash flow. The value of the company’s holdings also changes with Bitcoin’s market price.

Company Discloses Risks of Bitcoin Strategy

Smarter Web cautioned investors that Bitcoin is highly volatile and cryptocurrency markets operate within a largely unregulated environment. The company also stated that it is not authorized or regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

Investing in Smarter Web shares does not constitute direct ownership of Bitcoin. The company further noted that its shares are not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Investors therefore face risks from both Bitcoin price movements and the company’s own financial position, including its share price and access to capital.

Smarter Web trades under the ticker SWC on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market. Its shares also trade as TSWCF on the US OTCQB market and as 3M8 in Frankfurt. Its preferred shares trade under the ticker MORE on the London Stock Exchange and are separate from its ordinary shares.

Strive and Other Companies Expand Bitcoin Holdings

Smarter Web’s purchase comes as other public companies continue adding Bitcoin to their treasuries. US-based Strive acquired 4,045 BTC between October 12 and October 16, according to its October 19 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Strive paid an average of approximately $82,803 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses, bringing its total holdings to 36,818 BTC. Its cash and cash equivalents rose from $310.3 million to $317.5 million during the week.

The company also reported that the fair value of its 505,000 Strategy STRC preferred shares declined from $50.3 million to $49.3 million. Meanwhile, its outstanding Class A common shares increased by approximately 13.7 million to 114,847,610, largely because of warrant exercises.

Strive did not specify how much of its Bitcoin purchases came from warrant proceeds, preferred-share sales, existing cash or other funding sources.

According to BitcoinTreasuries.net, Strategy holds 848,517 BTC, followed by Japan’s Metaplanet with 44,000 BTC and Twenty One Capital with 43,514 BTC. Strive ranks fourth with 36,818 BTC, ahead of MARA Holdings, which holds 35,577 BTC.

Smarter Web’s latest purchase brings its treasury to 2,850 BTC as the company continues pursuing its Bitcoin-focused strategy. Its future results will depend on Bitcoin prices, financing conditions and whether it can increase Bitcoin exposure per ordinary share.
